It looks like things are returning to days gone by. Kids of all ages are pulling out all the stops with creative costumes this Halloween 2021. In my travels today, I have seen a Princess Bride, Cinderella, Beetle Juice, several Michael Meyers, and Popeye the Sailorman. Usually, I would not hesitate to ask for a photo, but social distancing is always at the forefront of my mind, so I controlled the urge.
My grandchildren are a mixed bag today. They were scheduled to be with a parent, but plans changed. I had to come up with a viable solution to save Halloween 2021 from going bust. To be fair, my granddaughter told me a month ago how she wants to present herself to the public on this day. My grandson is torn because there are so many choices.
Initially, they found out they were to attend a Halloween 2021 fair, but it did not happen due to inclement weather. Missing one event meant that I had to scramble to make the evening everything it could be. Thankfully, I had leftover makeup and accessories from last year. In a New York minute, my grandson became a rock star and his sister a makeup artist.
They seemed pleased and their aunt was more than willing to take them out to get their treats. The weather is a bit chilly for Georgia so they will be chauffeured from house to house this evening. Kids have it so good these days. Back in my day, if you didn’t walk and knock on doors, you got nothing. They couldn’t wait to leave and I’m happy for the few hours of siIence. Of course, I’ll have to check through their spoils when they return.
I hope that everyone is having a safe and happy Halloween in 2021.
