The Congressional Committee hearings are appearing on national television. We’ve seen what occurred in real-time on the day it happened. The replay is not adding insult to injury. People lost their lives that day as well as following the event. Rehashing the events should remind us of what’s at stake. The democracy of a country bordering on anarchy will set us back if we don’t get things under control. Is the January 6th Committee Hearings a red-herring?
Why a Red-Herring?
The government has failed to address several issues that Americans were counting on. We, the people, want police reform and got none. We want sweeping gun control. We got minimal to none. We want voting rights solidified at the federal level. We got nothing. Yet, the American people are told to go to the polls and vote for leaders who accomplish nothing on the democratic side and only want to wield power on the republican side.
It’s time for the mid-term elections, and Democrats don’t have a good record to stand on. Could congress be using this moment to stain the Republican party? That seems pointless. We all know the root cause of the situation. The amount of blood spilled during the insurrection has left a mark that will go down in history. Is the January 6th Committee Hearings a red-herring?
The January 6th Committee Hearings is a red-herring. It is used to point fingers. It’s the justification of why Democrats who can’t get anything done should control Republicans who never want to accomplish anything that’s not self-serving. Both sides will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Democrats pretend to be moving the needle forward, while Republicans use smoke and mirrors to disguise the fact everything is not fine as it stands today. Aside from the people who are in the process of being prosecuted for their crimes against the state, nothing more will come of these hearings. Of course, we must continue to vote, protest and badger the people who hold public office. If they want to work for the people, then they must be held accountable for doing the work.
