I love to read books. Plenty of us do. The only genre that I don’t frequent is horror because I like to sleep at night. You are transported to a different place and time when you read and experience an adventure. All of it is brought to you without having to set foot outside the comfort of your home. People read for many different reasons. There is reading for your occupation, education, and entertainment. March is known as National Reading Month, and I encourage you to escape into a good book. Here are some free ways to achieve your reading goal.
Ways to achieve reading goals
Try a new author today. You don’t always have to read your favorite. I find that I’m always pleasantly surprised when I venture off into the unknown. Over the last few months, I have discovered new authors. Maybe not new to the reading public, but outside of my favorite few. I’ve read everything by BA Paris and have become fond of Don Winslow, to name a couple. Expand your view by trying a new author during National Reading Month.
Changing your genre of reading helps to expand your frame of thought. If you are strictly a mystery thriller reader, I suggest you try a memoir. It introduces you to an alternate way of enjoying a plot. You will be shocked to learn that memoirs mimic mysteries as you discover things about the main character in actual events.
Public libraries are a good source of books at no cost to you. A patron can borrow up to 20 books at a time. Many libraries have online access and offer audiobooks. Listening to books is a form of reading with endless possibilities. Remember, when children see adults reading, they inherently tend to want and enjoy reading more.
I borrow six books a week. I got three e-books as well as three audiobooks. The exposure is mind-blowing when you think about all you can immerse yourself in for National Reading Month. My reading goal for 2025 is 125 books across many genres. As of right now, I’m twenty books into my reading challenge. This year, I’m focusing on educational books and diving into fantasy.
As an author, please click here if you want to explore anything I have published. My catalog is growing, and there is much to choose from during this national reading month. I wholeheartedly believe that reading is an escape, and I invite you to run away with me. Happy reading!
