Walking Journey Anniversary

It was one year ago, on November 1 of 2024, that I decided to get up and move around. I planned to walk 10,000 steps a day, each and every day, rain or shine. And did. I am so proud of myself for sticking to a plan. It was hard at first. It was tough. However, I made it through to my first walking journey anniversary.

The first time I got on a walking trail, it took me nearly 3 hours to walk 10,000 steps. At the end of that journey, I was soaked with perspiration. My body ached from head to toe. The fact that I actually finished the mission was an accomplishment in and of itself. I told myself that no matter how much it hurt, I would go back and do it again. Eventually, as time went on, it got easier. Changing the route each day kept it interesting for me.

The first goal was to be consistent. The second goal was not just to complete my mission of 10,000 steps per day, but to get a little faster with each walk. By month three, I improved my pace. As I crest month six, I incorporated a little bit of a jog. Never did I think of quitting the daily ritual.
